Acute Care
EWHS offers a range of acute services across its five campuses. Each community is supported by a local doctor, who provides ongoing care.
We provide 24 hour urgent care at each of our five services and access to acute bed services for low to medium complexity inpatients, offering resuscitation and limited stabilisation before transferring patients to larger hospitals. Given the vast geographical distances and the nature of the injuries clients experience, we have access to both an ambulance helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft. These resources enable the swift transport of clients to major regional or metropolitan hospitals when needed. EWHS works closely with Ambulance Victoria, the Flying Doctor Service, and other community health service providers to ensure quality service for our community.
Renal Dialysis
Our five-chair renal dialysis service, located at the Donald campus, provides essential care for clients with chronic kidney disease. Our service allows clients to receive critical care close to home, minimising the need for long-distance travel to larger towns or cities. In collaboration with nephrologists and other specialists, we maintain a comprehensive approach to managing kidney health, aiming to improve the quality of life for our community members.
